Caracol Festival 2012
I was able to witness Makati City's annual Caracol Festival which was held on Feb. 26, 2012 at the corner of Ayala Avenue and Makati Avenue. The Caracol Festival aims to raise awareness on the preservation of cultural heritage and conservation of the environment and natural resources. Hundreds of students (elementary, high school and college levels) and residents of Makati City participated in this lively and colorful event. The students competed in a dance showdown after the fun filled parade. I only learned about the festival the day before the event itself. I was supposed to attend the festival with 2 companions but both could not make it so I went alone. I had so much fun photographing the participants who were all willing to smile and pose for the camera. Some would even request that I take photos of them. Such warm and happy people!

Ay! Bongga! ang saya saya ng parade! Pinakafeyvorit ko ung mga beking fairies!! Prang si KM lang! LOL! At pssst, KM, caracol? ngayon mo lang narinig? Ako matagal na, di ko lang alam anong pagdiriwang to. Haha!

Ang sexy nung ate sa unang picture. hahaha. Ang galing ng pagkakagawa ng mga costumes nila at walng pinipiling edad at kasarian. Bata, matanda, babae, lalaki at beki. Kaaliw silang lahat. Last Sunday of February ba ito. Naku I'll mark it so that I can witness it next year.

Iba talaga ang pinoy ganda gumawa nang costumes and very colorful pa. ^_^

ang gaganda ng mga costume nila. when did this annual event start? used to like and work in makati but never go to hear about this.

Very interesting! Kelan nga ito nagsimula sa Makati? Diba normally sa isang province ito ginagawa? I just want to add na caracol means suso or snail in Spanish... So I wonder why the festival is called as such... Time to do some research I guess :-)

too bad i missed it.. hopefully something like this will take place in march during my visit. one we pinoys love to do is dress up and go all out during parades despite of what's going on. ;)
