Eleven countries competed for the coveted top prize including South Korea, Malta, United Kingdom, Spain, Finland, Portugal, China, Netherlands, Australia, Canada, and Italy. Philippines was not included in the competion being the host of the event but also showcased a spectacular display of fireworks courtesy of Platinum Fireworks Inc. Philippines' exhibition was cut off due to some technical difficulties. We saw a small fire in the barge and it took them a while to continue for the finale. Despite some technical problems, I was still amazed at Philippines's firework exhibition! I specially loved it when they started launching firework shells into the water and all we can see were floating mini fountains of light that looked like they emerged from the water and suddenly the air was filled with Whitney Houston's beautiful song "I Will Always Love You". I loved Philippines's choice of music to accompany the fireworks display. We truly enjoyed the colorful explosions of light that painted the sky that night!
