Zoo Pops ( Animal shaped Ice Pop molds)

Homemade Ice Pops are a summer favorite! When I saw these animal shaped frozen treat molds last year, I bought a set right away. The molds create four different 3 dimensional shapes - a lion, elephant, polar bear and a monkey. I had problems with one of the molds. It was somewhat leaking when filled to the rim but I was able to fix it after 3 attemts of pouring fruit juice.

DIY Cocktail Umbrellas/ Drink Umbrellas

I made these last year but was not able to post before I went on hiatus. I think it's the right time to blog about these since they are perfect for summer. I saw the idea online but I no longer remember where. These cute drink umbrellas will jazz up your cocktails or other beverages. I designed them in photoshop and printed out.

Here's my version of making them.

cut out the shapes

Make a slit, overlap the edges and tape the inside

glue the overlapping edge in place

Poke a wooden skewer through the underside and use hot glue to hold them together.

Chill out and have fun!

Lime - Kiwi Cooler

Summer is in full swing! Here's a recipe for a great summer drink. The summer heat tends to be overwhelming and distressing. You can cool off with this tart thirst quencher that you will surely enjoy and keep you refreshed in a scorching weather.
Add lime zest to boost the flavor.

8-10 limes, freshly squeezed
4 cups water
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp lime zest
ice cubes
Lime and Kiwi slices

Combine first four ingredients. Dissolve sugar by mixing well. Add Ice cubes and kiwi/lime slices. You can adjust sweetness and tartness to taste.
