Custom Printed Pillowcase

Sis Peachkins holding the pillowcase

This arrived in the mail this morning. I had this Dora pillowcase customized for Ykaie. She is very fond of Dora and always watches her on TV every morning. The size is 30"x 20". I ordered it online from Artscow which is based in Hongkong. Regular price is US $13.99 but since they had a promo, I only got it for $5.99 (Php 284) with free shipping. Such a steal!

I just googled for some Dora desktop wallpaper and picked this one. I then extracted Ykaie's image from this photo of her in two piece.

The finished design. I even extended Ykaie's hair a bit. lol!

She was so amazed and happy to see herself with Dora! She kept on hugging the pillow.

Homemade ice pops

Kiwi-Strawberry Ice Pops

These are very easy and quick to make! Icy treats to keep handy in your freezer for family on hot summer days. The first ones I made were 2 flavored Ice pops! I pureed the kiwis using a blender, added sugar and water then filled a portion of the ice pop mold.

I froze it for an hour then poured in the second layer. My nieces and nephews loved these healthy frozen treats.

I also made some assorted flavors using Kool-Aid and chocomilk ice pops which were also a hit.

...and avocado Ice candies!

Mango Salsa

Since mangoes are in season, I made some mango salsa. This is refereshingly delicious! All the ingredients are fresh and healthy.

Ingredients

2 ripe mangoes, diced
1 red bell pepper, roasted, peeled and diced
1 red onion, diced
juice of 1 lime
1 jalapeno pepper, chopped ( I used the one in bottle coz I couldn't find a fresh one)
1 tbsp finely chopped cilantro
salt and pepper to taste

Combine all the ingredients. Mix well and chill for 20 minutes then serve. This does not hold up well and should be served right away. This goes well with grilled seafood or chicken.

A box of snacks from Germany

This box of snacks arrived yesterday. It was from sis's snack swap partner Tanja from Germany. The snacks are a mix of swiss and german goodies.

First one I tried was Jumpys. I liked the taste of these cheesy kangaroo shaped crackers. They taste like potato chips! lol

Next choice was Happy Hippo. These cute hippo shaped wafer are filled with hazelnut and milk cream. Yummy!

Then the Knödel. Tanja included an instruction on how to cook them. I had to boil them for ten minutes in salted water. She says they are a great side dish to pork roast, chicken or meatloaf. They are like bread dumplings.

I haven't tried them all yet but this one is my favorite so far! The Ovomaltine biscuits! We don't have these here in the Philippines so I'm sure gonna miss the taste. Theye are biscuits with choco malt fillings. They are like the Ovaltine drink here but the taste is different.

Sis and I both shopped for Tanja's goodies. She paid for the snacks and I was in charge of the shipping cost. If you are interested in joining the snack swap, you can visit It's what we do. This was actually the second package we got from the snack swap. The contents of the first box we got are here. It's fun exchanging snacks with people from the other side of the world! You get to taste what they snack on.
