Cute hairdo

I love to style my nieces' hair specially Ykaie's. Eventhough she has very thin hair, I still enjoy putting hairclips , bows and ribbons in her curly hair. Here's what I did the other day.

I made 2 small ponytails in the front of head. I then criss crossed each pony tails securing with rubber bands.

Happy 4th Birthday Chellie!!

We attended my niece's 4th birthday party yesterday. Her name was mispelled on her birthday cake. They put "S" instead of letter "C". I just tried to fix the picture in photoshop. She had fun on her birthday. She was excited and always asking if her visitors had already arrived.

Some photos I took before the party.

Result of the Cosmo body 7 day challenge

Recap: Cosmo body 7 day challenge is a weight loss diet program. You can lose up to 10-17 lbs per week. Just visit this website for the meal plan: Cosmo body 7 day challenge
I lost 8 lbs in 1 week. Not bad! I hope I won't put the weight back on just as fast If I start eating normally. I actually cheated on the 3rd and 7th day. hehehe! I thought I would survive day 3 because the meal plan consists of veggies and fruits. I was already craving for something sweet on the 2nd day. On the 3rd day, though I consumed some fruits, I was still craving for something sweeter. I was feeding my niece some chocolate coated pretzel sticks. I took a bite! LOL I ended up eating all of them. hehehe! I just bought my niece another box of pretzels. I will no longer elaborate what I ended up eating on the 7th day sengihnampakgigijelir. Day 2 and 7 were the hardest for me. It was hard for me to eat veggies without any meat. And because I must drink at least 10 glasses of water each day, imagine how many times I had to go back and forth to the comfort room. I've also consumed 2 diet cokes and coffee with artificial sweetener. I think I would lose more If I didn't cheat. I have to try this again! Try for yourself! My sister will start this week. Hmmmmm. let's see how much she would lose!

Third day of the Cosmo body 7 day challenge

In day 3 you have to eat a mixture of vegetables and fruits. Avoid bananas and potatoes today. I bought a pack of mixed fruits in the grocery for 45 pesos (120 pesos /kilo). You can choose the fruits you want to include. Mine was an assortment of red and yellow watermelons, grapes, pear, pineapple, orange, melons and papayas. I didn't consume all the fruits I bought coz I was already full. I also had some mixed veggies today.

Second day of the Cosmo body 7 day challenge

You can eat as much vegetables as you want. There is no limit on the amount or type. Your day should start with a large baked potato with a pat of butter. This is taken for energy and balance. I bought the mini potatoes, boiled until tender then mashed with fork and baked. I just seasoned with pepper and 1 pat of butter. I also had some vegetable salad with lemon dressing, mixed veggies, sauteed gourd with carrots.

First day of the Cosmo body 7 day challenge

In day one, all fruits can be eaten except bananas. You must drink 10 glasses of water each day and try to avoid alcohol. I only ate melons today because they say chances of losing 3 lbs on first day is very good if you limit fruit consumption to melons. I consumed 1 1/2 of melons today. I feel 3 lbs lighter! lol! sengihnampakgigijelir Or am I just dreaming? hehehe!

My niece Ykaie

I love this photo of Ykaie that I took last month after her Auntie Arlene's wedding at the Greenery. She was one of the flower girls. Though she was a bit tired and sleepy from a long trip, she still managed to pose for me. sengihnampakgigi

She wore the pretty gown again the next day for another photo shoot. Isn't she cute?

Fusilli with shrimp and mango

I made this pasta salad on New Years day. Here's the recipe:

400 grams pre boiled fusilli
4 cups mayonaise
2 large cucumbers, diced (peel and remove seeds)
3 stalks of celery, chopped
1/4 cup chopped carrots
5 mangoes, diced
salt, pepper, sugar to taste

In a large bowl, combine first seven ingredients. Season with salt, pepper and sugar. Chill and serve. I find it more delicious if served on the day you made it. It becomes a little dry if served the next day.

Happy 2009!

Happy New year! I took this photo during our New Year's Eve celebration.

Writing with sparklers

These were the food we prepared for our New Year celebration. We had pork barbeque, roast chicken, steamed fish, mini pizza, fruit salad, fusilli with shrimp and mango, fried rice, stuffed shrimps, coconut lychee salad and custard balls.

Having some fun!

New Year's Eve

I bought some colorful party trumpets and sparklers for welcoming the New Year. Pop picollo is a kind of firecracker that produces a noise when you step on it or bang drop it. I didn't buy the ones that produce a very loud bang and can cause injuries in children. The trumpets are enough to make noise in welcoming year 2009.

Making patterns with sparklers

We had finger foods for our New Year's Eve late dinner. I baked some bacon wrapped asparagus and tomato and made some canapes.
