Caracol Festival 2012

I was able to witness Makati City's annual Caracol Festival which was held on Feb. 26, 2012 at the corner of Ayala Avenue and Makati Avenue. The Caracol Festival aims to raise awareness on the preservation of cultural heritage and conservation of the environment and natural resources. Hundreds of students (elementary, high school and college levels) and residents of Makati City participated in this lively and colorful event. The students competed in a dance showdown after the fun filled parade. I only learned about the festival the day before the event itself. I was supposed to attend the festival with 2 companions but both could not make it so I went alone. I had so much fun photographing the participants who were all willing to smile and pose for the camera. Some would even request that I take photos of them. Such warm and happy people!

Who says Valentine's day/date is for couples only? Sis and I had a post Valentine's date with these 3 little sweethearts.

With this kind of table setting we didn't think it would work with the little rascals sweethearts so we asked the waiter to take away other flatware and water glass

Here's what we had:

Fresh Baked Carrot and Raisin Roll with butter and liver pâté on the side

Baked Half Shelled Aklan Oysters Trio: Parmiggiano Reggiano and Garlic, Tomato and Basil, Champagne Cream and Caviar

Essence of Duck Consomme with Foie Gras and Wild Mushroom Ravioli

Raspberry Sherbet

Sis had Lamb chops while I had Wagyu Sirloin with Sauteed Shiitake Mushrooms, Wilted Spinach and Marsala au jus

My choice of dessert-Valrhona Chocolate Tartlettes

Sis's choice of dessert- Baked Cheesecake with Fresh Strawberries dipped in Belgian Chocolate

Extra order for the kids- Half Pan-Fried Spring Chicken with Glazed Apples and Capers Au Jus

I can say that everything we had from start to finish was delectable and totally worth the price! After a satisfying lunch I took some photos of the kids within the vicinity of Ilustrado.
